5 Ways Mama Lam’s Is More Sustainable in 2021
Not only are we fans of good food, but we’re also fans of the environment! As a small business, we’re committed to doing our part when it comes to keeping our products sustainable. That’s why we’re taking steps to ensure our packaging is recyclable and doesn’t harm the environment. Here’s 5 ways we’re upgrading Mama Lam’s packaging and keeping it eco-friendly.
We use glass jars to reduce the use of plastic.
While we’re working on a solution to find more sustainable labels, Mama Lam’s uses glass jars that can be recycled or easily reused.
Check out our favorite ways to reuse your empty jars!
All shipments are packed in corrugated cardboard, Kraft packing paper, and pressure sensitive Kraft tape
Corrugated cardboard is 100% recyclable!
Bubble wrap can’t be recycled, isn’t biodegradable, and is carbon intensive to get delivered. By using Kraft packing paper, we’re minimizing our carbon footprint.
The cardboard that is used to wrap each jar is actually recycled cardboard from its original packaging. At Mama Lam’s, we try to reuse wherever possible!
Our packaging can be recycled easily or reused.
Make sure to clean out your jars before putting them in the recycling bin!
If getting Mama Lam’s sent to your house, reuse your boxes to send another package.
Upcycle your empty jars and use them for homemade jams, storing spices, salad dressings, and more!
We’re exploring new and unique ways to improve our packaging.
- One of these ways includes using mycelium, a mushroom root that would replace foam as a filler to package our jars for extra protection when they’re being shipped.
There’s always more work to be done when it comes to being eco-friendly, but at Mama Lam’s we’re going to continue these efforts in 2021 and beyond! If you have an idea, send us a note! We’re open to suggestions!
