We love a simple hot dog with ketchup and/or mustard. But we also love to get creative with it! That is how we came up with this mint-wrapped hot dog topped with spicy slaw combination. The mint combined with the spicy slaw gives the hot dog a refreshing twist.
This recipe uses our Spicy Slaw recipe that is made with our Malaysian Hot Sauce. So, check that out first! Then, the other ingredients are mint leaves, hot dog links and hot dog buns.
The trickiest part of this recipe is getting the mint leaves to stay wrapped around the hot dog link. When the mint leaves are washed, the wet leaf will cling onto the hot dog link but sometimes it will be stubborn and won’t stay on. Good news is that when you put it on the grill and it starts to cook, the mint leaves will definitely stay on the hot dog link.
The hot dog bun we used was a brioche bun but you can use any kind of bun. Just make sure you warm and toast it before putting the hot dog together!
The recipe does not have cheese in it, but you can definitely add shredded cheese on there or add the cheese as you’re grilling the mint-wrapped hot dog link, so that it melts – yum!

8 Hot Dogs
8 Hot Dog Buns
Mint leaves (washed)
Wrap mint leaves around hot dogs
Grill the mint wrapped hot dogs until you see some grill marks
Toast the bun
Once bun is toasted, place the mint wrapped hot dog on top. Then, top it with the spicy slaw!
