This is a quick and easy recipe you can whip up for guests, or for yourself to snack on! You won’t want to buy salsa from the store anymore after making this one time and realizing how tasty and easy it is to make.
About The Ingredients
The ingredients in this recipe are pretty simple, but feel free to add any other herbs that you have. The brand of crushed tomatoes we used was the Rienzi brand, which came out really tasty. If you are looking for an organic brand, we recommend Muir Glen – their fire roasted tomatoes are absolutely delicious!
Most of the ingredients are blended but we like a little chunkiness and color. So, we dice up one plum tomato to mix into the blended salsa. For the extra color, we add corn kernels. To prepare the corn kernels, we roasted it and sliced the kernels off. However, if you are feeling lazy, you can buy the frozen kernels and cook it in the pan to give it a roasted taste as well.
We like a good spice and so this is a bit spicy for those who prefer a milder salsa. If that’s the case, we recommend only adding 1 tsp of Mama Lam’s Malaysian Hot Sauce instead of the 2 tsp that the recipe calls for.
What To Use The Salsa For?
Chips! That’s always the first thing that comes to mind right? It’s great to snack on mid-day or serve at parties with friends and family. It pairs well with corn tortilla chips or even pita chips.
It also tastes pretty great on your egg omelette for breakfast or add to your tacos and burritos!
Enjoy!
